Hi, I’m Carrie.

I’m a Seattle native, but I currently live in South Korea with my husband and our 4 year old son.

I’ve been self-employed for the past decade as a private tutor, teaching US college admissions tests, math, and the law school admissions test.

And in the process of running that business, I learned Canva so that I could create study planners and other resources for my students.

Then, when my son started getting interested in numbers and the alphabet, I started creating printables for him that incorporated seasonal clipart or his favorite things (usually excavators).

That led me to open my own Etsy shop selling printables, but…. I wasn’t inspired by the available clipart. So I learned to create my own!

And I LOVED doing so. It’s a creative outlet that’s so different from teaching standardized tests, and I love that I get to create beautiful images that others can use in anything. My clipart has been used in planners, cookbooks, birthday invites, cards, Christmas ornaments, and more. It has even gotten piped onto sugar cookies!

My Passive Income Philosophy

I LOVE earning passive income. I enjoy waking up to see how much my Etsy shops brought in while I was asleep. And I love that my passive income streams have allowed me to be more flexible with my private tutoring business. And while I do NOT love toddler tantrums, they DO seem a little more tolerable when accompanied with little notification on my phone saying that I’ve brought in income for our family even while my attention had to be focused elsewhere.

At the same time, I believe that 100% “passive” (completely hands-off) income is largely a myth. Even “passive” income streams do actually require some effort, especially in the beginning.

But I also believe that there are ways to go about it in a peaceful way.

A side-hustle without the hustle, if you will.

My Passive Income Philosophy

 Many years ago, I set two goals for my life: 

1. To be a good grandmother to my granddaughter the way my grandmothers were for me. (To my toddler: no pressure, kid!)
2. To have a “meaningful impact” in my career. (At the time, I was still working on figuring out what exactly I wanted that to mean.)

I’m so fortunate that I can now live out that second goal daily by helping others create digital products and develop passive income streams to bring their families closer to financial freedom.
